Watsons Wants to Break the Taboo in Talking About Breast Cancer and Raises Funds for Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, 5 October 2022 — Watsons Malaysia is hosting the Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign for the 5" year running to raise awareness of breast cancer together with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) Malaysia.
This year’s theme, Pink for the Win talks about breaking the taboo and believing women should not be afraid to discuss breast health awareness. Educating women on the importance of early detection and self-check is vital.

During this Pink month, the Watsons campaign offers great savings such as purchase with purchase (PWP) deals up to 50% and RM10 brand vouchers from participating brands. Not only that, for every purchase of participating brands, part of the purchase will be donated to BCWA for their continuous effort in raising breast cancer awareness and support among Malaysians.

A self-examination video that promotes breast self-check and public health talk will also be shown at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Also present at the launch were Ayda Jebat, Watsons’ Ambassador who shared similar opinions about openness to talking about breast cancer. Together with her is her husband Nabil Mahir and Watsons’ Management Team.
Ayda shared, “In my opinion, every woman including young girls needs to know the simplest way to have self-check done and to speak out especially to family members on this topic. It could be seen as a taboo but as the saying goes early detection is the best prevention.”
